Faster than a speeding. . . .

We, of course, didn't bring our camera.  These are the places that are familiar and close to the sweet family we came to see this weekend.

We left on Friday, drove 12 hours to Utah.  On Saturday we stayed with my parents saw my grandma, saw my new darling nephew Ian, said hi to the Alger's (yeah for a baby boy!),  bought a gift, auntie gave much needed haircuts, had Christmas at the ranch with Buddy's parents, went to a reception, saw my grandpa, and packed.  Sunday we drove 12 hours home.

The reason for the trip was the reception.  You know how you connect with people.  Even if you don't spend a lot of time together, or don't even really know each other backwards and forwards.  You just connect, your spirits connect, and you know you will always be great friends.
That is what Tokyo was like for me.   Not sure if anyone else feels that way, but for me, that's how it is.  And I am so grateful.
It was amazing to remember the sweetness of that experience in the eyes and faces of the friends we saw on Saturday.  It felt like home.
Thank you Russ and Dori.  Thank you for inviting us and for your open arms and hearts.  Thank you Emmelie for choosing the right path and following it through.  Thank you Colleen and Renae, thank you Keiko, and thank you Wilson's, Way's, and the Stouts.  Thank you for bringing back a part of me that now only exists as memories.
We love you
