The Speech

Conversation in the car this morning:

Mom: Will, I know you are going to have a great day today.

Will: I don't know, it's so hard and I get in trouble a lot.

Then mom goes into a 20 min. speech about making choices and being in control over your own actions. She talks about not giving in to the temptations. It's kind of like a war in your little head. Satan is tempting you to break the rules and make not so good choices, but Heavenly Father wants you to make good choices and follow the rules. Don't let Satan win, don't give in to the temptations to dink around in line, or talk when it's not your turn, or talk rudely to a teacher.
You want the control, but when you give in to the temptations, you aren't in control anymore.
Take the control, do what you know is right, etc. etc.

After the big speech,

Will: I am sorry mom.

Mom: It's o.k. just try your best.

Will: I didn't hear anything you just said, I was thinking about Star Wars space ships and alien wars.

Mom: Oh.
