Secret Obsession

I have a secret obsession.  Well I guess it's not so secret anymore, but it still sounds exciting to say "secret obsession."

When I was younger, I loved to watch the show "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman."  And I know all of you out there in blog land secretly or not so secretly loved this show as well.  What's not to love?  It has an amazingly talented cast, and it's a good family show.
It was on Saturday nights and I usually worked every Saturday so I wouldn't have to work Sundays.  Soooo, every Saturday I would set the VCR to record Dr. Quinn (DVR's weren't invented yet.  I am not sure which dates me more, the use of the word VCR, or that DVR's hadn't been invented.)
I would come home from work and watch my favorite show.
Saturday's were the best.

One day, I was babysitting my little cousins and read in their "Family Fun" magazine that people can visit the Dr. Quinn set.  They filmed in the Santa Monica Mountains in a national park and anyone and everyone could come and enjoy the beautiful landscape and rub shoulders with the rich and famous, (actually you had to stand way off to the side and watch them from a far.)
I read this and knew it was something I had to do.
My birthday was coming up and it so happened that it was my golden birthday (turning 20 on the 20th.)
I knew I had to go to that set for my golden birthday.
And you know what, we made it happen!!
My dad knew the head make-up artist and he got us special visitor passes and I really did get to rub shoulders with the rich and famous.  We wandered around the entire set and had a grand old time.

And I have been obsessed ever since.

Now I own the entire series on DVD and my mom and kids are obsessed too.  Bwahahaha.

You should join the club, you'll be glad you did :)
