Notes, notes and more notes

Sticky Notes
They are amazing little pieces of paper.

The re-stick adhesive was invented in 1968 by Dr. Spencer Silver.

He promoted his concoction for 5 years.

Finally 3M's Art Fry came up with the idea to use the adhesive on pieces of paper.

The famous yellow color was chosen by accident.

The lab next door had yellow scrap pieces of paper they experimented with.

In 1978 they issued free samples to Boise, Idaho residents.

94 percent of the people said they would buy the product.

On April 6, 1980, post-it notes were debuted in the U.S.

They have been made into works of art.

Someone covered their entire bedroom in post-its.

One post-it work of art fetched 640 British pounds at an auction.

But I think the very best use of post-its are the awesome notes from my kids found on my computer today. :)
