The Mediums

Poetry is a form of media, or so I have learned from this class.  I had no idea that books and literature as well as art were forms of media that we would think about in the same way as movies, television, video games, and computers.  I wonder if there really is a difference between actually viewing something on a screen as opposed to reading or looking at a still painting and using your imagination to create the drama, action, or romance.  Does it affect our brains the same way?  I wonder.  Do books or art have the same correlation with aggression as video games or movies have?  Just a thought.
