It came, It came!!!

It came today!
It is official!
I am a graduate of Brigham Young University!
It has taken me 20 years to get it done.
When I started college back in 1996, I had no idea what my life would bring.
I got married, had three kids, lived in TX, AZ, and Japan.
I thought that someday I would go back to school,
You know like all mom's do, when all my kids are in school, then I will go back to school.
In 2011 when my youngest was 4, everything changed.
Without warning, I was a single mom.
I needed a job.
I needed insurance.
In my job search, I noticed that an undergraduate degree is essential.
I was so blessed and found a great job at BYU.
However, my great job did not pay enough to support myself and my three kids.
I needed to finish my degree.
The tuition benefits were amazing and I started my journey in the Fall of 2011
I had 30 credits under my belt, and I started going part time.
I took day classes and night classes.
I took online classes, and classes in the spring and summer.
And then I got married again.
I didn't have to work anymore,
So I was able to go full time.
What a marvelous journey.
I love learning and growing and I love the BYU campus.
Who knows what the future will bring.
More school - Master's degree anyone??
A good career - What do I do with a degree in Family Life???
Or stay home with my kidlets - Preferred for sure!
The future is unwritten and I am excited to see what's in store.

disclaimer:  I did not do this alone,  My amazing dad and mom, amazing husband, amazing kids, amazing aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, amazing friends, and amazing people all around who supported me, took care of my kids, and cheered me on through the entire process.  This degree is for all of you too!  Thank you!
